March 23, 2010: Izzet Bensusan participates in the Carbon Markets & Finance I session at the Wall Street Green Trading Summit in New York as the expert on environmental commodities.


The Wall Street Green Trading Summit is an environmental market event in which the latest developments in green finance and trading are discussed. Other conference topics include carbon trading and finance, green hedge funds, cleantech investments and renewable energy. Conference attendees include investment bankers, traders, family offices, venture capitalists, hedge fund managers and institutional investors.

March 17, 2010: Izzet Bensusan participates in a panel discussion about green business in this industry panel discussion in New York City at the 7th Annual Tri-State Conference. The conversation focuses around innovative companies that offer its clients the opportunity to meet social and corporate responsibility mandates, and those companies that have developed services and technology for businesses.


The 7th Annual Tri-State Conference: It’s a Green World centers on the growing green sector of business in areas such as technology, capital, new business models and regulation. February 5, 2010: Izzet Bensusan presented a session at the PLI’s Green Technology Law and Business 2010: Legislation, Financing, Carbon Trading and Sustainability.  His curriculum focused on various environmental credit types including Solar Renewable Energy Credits, Renewable Energy Credits Carbon Credits and Alberta Offset Credits.  He draw parallels between various global markets covering the advancement of renewable energy and reduction of current and future emissions. He shared insights on various finacning and trading structures which are commonly used amongst market participants from the Energy, Oil & Gas, Finance and Utility sectors.


February 2, 2010: Izzet Bensusan presents on the subject matter of Renewable Energy & Carbon Credit Markets at the Energy and Environment Conference (EUEC) in Phoenix, Arizona. The presentation focuses on trading and Carbon Offsets, Solar RECs, RECs and Alberta Offsets.


EUEC is an annual conference that features workshops, speakers and an exhibit hall. The meeting brings together professionals in the fields of energy and environment to learn about strategies and technologies in carbon and renewable energy. Around 500 presentations will be given during the conference as well as 2000 delegates given the opportunity to network with each other to discuss services and technologies.

January 22, 2010: Izzet Bensusan presents on the topic of Investing in Renewable Energy Certificates and Carbon Offsets at the Platts 3rd Annual Carbon Trading Conference in Houston, Texas. The presentation addresses the latest developments in renewable energy certificates, RECs compliance issues and impact of carbon markets on RECs. Conference Agenda


The Platts 3rd Annual Carbon Trading Conference provides information about potential and new U.S. carbon regulations and its impact on business decisions. The conference also centers on cap and trade programs in the U.S. Event topic coverage areas include compliance issues related to carbon, carbon regulation, natural resource projects and opportunities and risks from legislation in development. Conference attendees are executives from industries including refining, oil and gas, mining and metals, regulators and state and federal government planners.


January 13, 2010: Rouba Farah participates in a panel discussion about understanding carbon financing as an asset class at iGlobal Forum: 2nd Annual Carbon Trading Summit in New York. The panel addresses such topics as approaching carbon investing and strategies, market fare of exchange-traded products and price signals for carbon including project investments and carbon-backed securities.


iGlobal Forum: 2nd Annual Carbon Trading Summit features discussions between carbon market experts about conclusions drawn from the Copenhagen Climate Change Summit at the end of 2009. Discussions will also focus on the future of the North American carbon market. Executives in attendance serve in roles at hedge funds, investment banks, global environmental exchanges and energy and utilities companies. Others are government representatives, carbon traders and carbon credit aggregators.


January 11, 2010– Karbone announced today that Rouba Farah has joined as director. Karbone is a full-service environmental commodities brokerage, project finance and carbon advisory firm with a core focus on renewable energy and emissions. October 21, 2009:  Mr. Richard Weihe will be a speaker on Renewable Energy Markets at the New York City Bar.   Mr. Weihe focused on convergence of environmental commodities and their market role.  The group comprised of top tier white shoe law firms inquired about parallels between Solar Renewable Energy Credit, Renewable Energy Credit Class I markets and  European Feed-in-Tariff models.
