Renewable Energy: Solar Markets
Karbone is an active participant of the Solar Markets, with particular focus on Solar Renewable Energy Certificate (SREC) brokerage and Project Finance. We work with a wide variety of groups including solar developers, asset owners, and utilities.
We introduce sources of equity, tax equity and debt financing to solar developers and asset owners. Also, we access stable, long term, credit worthy buyers of SRECs, a key source of project cash flow for securing project financing.
We service Utilities and other Load Serving Entities to address Renewable Portfolio Standard requirements in a variety of states that contain specific SREC requirements. We help source reliable and quality sources for long term SREC supply. We have a wide variety transaction and deal structuring experience in multiple states and compliance schemes.
Solar REC Brokerage
Karbone’s extended team has serviced its clients in structuring long term and spot market transactions in many jurisdictions, including New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Ohio, Delaware, District of Columbia and Massachusetts.
Our work in the Solar Brokerage of SRECs has spanned from brokering and structuring transactions from systems ranging in size between 100kW to more than 10MW, and from deal terms ranging from one year to greater than to 10 years.
Karbone has also expanded its deal activities into emerging markets such as California’s TREC (Tradable Renewable Energy Credits) program and Canada’s Ecologo Renewable Energy Credit program.

This key differentiator allows us to get involved with projects we deal with at various stages and source capital in the form of equity, tax equity and debt. Our global financing network has allowed us to introduce the right fit for varying degrees solar project development risk.
